His intuitive photographs transmit the sensory experience of being there through imagery that suggests quiet contemplation or active wonderment, and this new India series communicates a sense of solitude that allows space for one's own reflections.

The above audio includes Joseph Gallivan’s interview of photographer Christopher Rauschenberg about his new show Looking at India. The episode aired Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at 11:30 a.m on KBOO Art Focus.

Multi-image, panoramic constructions provide an immersive experience, transporting the viewer to locations in India bathed in bright, warm sunlight. Whether the focus is the majestic grandeur of the Taj Mahal, exquisitely mundane details of street scenes, or unexpected juxtapositions, the artist suggests that all of them are equally deserving of our attention.
